I have recently came back from the Philippines and was looking for a good place to get coconut oil. I was consuming a lot of coconuts (Bukos, in the local language) in the Philippines and was absolutely in love with this plant. The locals believe that the water of coconut is much better than local water, and for a good reason. Aside the fact that local infrastructure does not allow clean water, the coconut water hydrates the human body 7 times faster, as far as the science I’ve been exposed to is correct.

Where to Buy Coconut Oil ?

You can buy coconut oil in any local store, buy I would doubt its quality. I certainly recommend you to get a pure, organic extra virgin kind of oil. There is a famous company named Nutiva that sells this kind of product, and I have seen great reviews over it. Its not utterly expensive either. Look in Amazon or in Nutiva website, its amazing how the internet made everything available for (well, almost) everyone.

Coconut oil seems to have a lot of health benefits. People used to think that its not healthy since it is saturated fat, basically (most of it). Now, people understand that there is a different acid that forms that saturated fat. The acid that is present in coconuts are the same one that you can find in.. human breast milk. Yes, surprisingly enough.

I would strongly recommend having coconuts as a part of your diet. Also, the locals in the Philippines believe that the longest living people in their country, the ones at the mountains to the north, base their diet basically on coconuts, veggies, root vegetables and some small insects such as larvae. Would you like some larvae ? ;)
